  • Ian Ward Ambler and Georgie Nikakis will join the Foundation Five Nine Board nearer the end of 2016 bringing both experience and youth to our team. We are all very much looking forward to their input.
  • Marlene Fox from Biala Peninsula Inc was asked by Early Childhood Educators in Sweden to deliver a paper on the wrap-around service Biala offers its participants. She travelled to Stockholm in June to do this and had a very positive response. This was a great honour as Sweden leads the way in Early Childhood Intervention. Marlene also later delivered to same paper in Canberra.
  • Melindie Lane who is full time at Seawards Community Hub on the Rosebud West Children’s Project received the Early Childhood Educator of the Year Award in Victoria whilst the Department of Education and training has nominated Seawards Early Learning Centre for an award in “Improving Access and Participation in Early Learning” which is announced in October.
  • Our go-to guys at Westerport Secondary College, Michael Devine and Chris Quinn are now Principal and Vice Principal respectively – congratulations! And well-deserved!
  • News of positive steps being made to provide one of our programs, YMCA Southern Peninsula Youth Services, with a purpose build facility which would mean many more kids have access to these services and more often. Meetings scheduled for October to further progress plans in cohorts with Rosebud Secondary College alongside their proposed Health and Wellness Centre.
